Single Channel Cochlear Implant:

Sound detected by a microphone is amplified and filtered in 16 frequency bands. Cochlear implant device searches for the frequency band with sound intensity greater than 50 dB scanning from the highest to the lowest frequency band. Electrical stimulation is transmitted by an antenna to the implanted device and to the electrode attached to the cochlea.
